Supported measurements
Find supported measurement families, metric statistics and time windows, and provider-specific availability.
Weather Fusion converts readings from each provider into a shared measurement catalog. This lets the app present the same kind of reading consistently across stations, while preserving the statistic and time window supplied by the source.
Measurements and metrics
A measurement is the physical quantity or concept, such as temperature, rain, or PM2.5. A metric is a specific form of that measurement, identified by its statistic and time window.
For example, Rain can include current rain rate, rain during the last hour, rolling 24-hour rain, today’s rain, and storm rain. These are separate metrics even though they belong to the same measurement family. Extra sensor channels, such as Soil Temperature 3 or PM2.5 2, are also separate metrics.
Statistics can include an instant value, average, minimum, maximum, sum, rate, nowcast, or last-known value. Windows can represent a point in time, a rolling number of minutes or hours, a calendar day, week, month, or year, or a storm.

Presentation by view
Each view presents the part of the catalog suited to its purpose.
| View | Measurement coverage |
|---|---|
| Real Time | Curated cards for common current conditions plus current scalar cards for supported comfort, indoor, extra-channel, and air-quality metrics |
| Historical | Charts for supported temperature and comfort metrics, humidity, rain, wind, lightning, evapotranspiration, leaf wetness, pressure, solar and UV, air quality, indoor conditions, and extra channels |
| Observations and observation details | The broadest inspection surfaces, including weather metrics, soil and plant channels, event times, derived values, and provider diagnostics stored with an observation or summary |
| Widgets | Exact numeric metrics from the selected station’s mirrored catalog, subject to the chosen preset and widget capacity |
| Map | A compact provider- and station-dependent subset suited to map markers and station selection |
Weather Fusion presents gateway, battery, signal, firmware, and uptime values in Device Health. These values support station diagnosis and remain separate from weather measurement families.
Availability rules
A metric appears when all required layers are available:
- The provider exposes the field through the configured account or local connection.
- The station or attached sensor supplies the source reading.
- The selected view supports that metric and presentation form.
- Stored observations or summaries cover the selected period when the view uses history.
Unit preferences change presentation while preserving stored values. See Real Time card reference, Historical chart reference, and Provider and sensor availability for surface-specific details.
When the station or connection service shows a measurement that is missing from Weather Fusion, follow Fix a missing measurement to collect the information needed for investigation.
