Observations

Find daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly summaries and row-level records available in Observations on regular-width iPad layouts and Mac.

Change the view

Use Day, Week, Month, Year, and All to switch between summary levels and the full observation table.

On regular-width iPad layouts, the mode control appears in the Observations toolbar. On macOS, the same mode can be changed from the toolbar or from View > Show Observations.

On iPhone and compact iPad layouts, use Historical Observation Data to inspect the selected period, its summaries, child periods, and stored records. Use Real Time Data to inspect the current observation.

Inspect stored data

Summary rows condense longer periods. Use All to inspect individual observations directly.

Depending on the provider, station model, and installed sensors, the tables can include temperature, humidity, comfort, rain, evapotranspiration, lightning, wind, pressure, solar and UV, air-quality, indoor, extra-channel, soil, water, and plant metrics. Multi-channel readings retain their channel number so values from separate sensors remain identifiable.

Unit changes in Settings update the table display while preserving stored values.

Observation details can also show derived values such as growing, heating, and cooling degree days; event metadata such as storm start, storm end, last rain, or last lightning strike; forecast context; and ephemeris values. A separate Device Health section presents signal, battery, gateway, firmware, uptime, and other source diagnostics when available.

Observations table

On macOS, the Observations table supports common table actions for review and export:

  • Click a column header to sort by that column.
  • Use the column header menu to show or hide metric columns. Observed At always stays visible.
  • Drag column headers to reorder them, and drag column dividers to resize them.
  • Select one or more rows, then choose Edit > Copy to copy the current rows as CSV. Paste the result into another app.
  • Double-click a row to open the selected observation in more detail.
  • In day, week, month, and year summary tables, right-click a row and choose View Charts for … to open the matching historical charts.

When data looks incomplete

Summaries are calculated by Weather Fusion when downloading historical data from the provider.

  • If summaries look out of sync or are missing data after restores or backfills, run Recalculate Summaries.
  • If expected rows or periods are missing, use Download Older Observations or Download Missing Observations from Data Management.
