Settings reference

Settings

Find settings for connection services, station data, dashboard layouts, appearance, units, backups, synchronization, and support.

Data Source

Use Data Source to switch connection services, choose a station, reopen connection settings, or rerun Test Connection. See Connect your weather station for initial setup or Change provider or account for an existing configuration.

If the provider account returns more than one station, use Station in Data Source to switch between them.

  • If the station list is empty or outdated, tap or click the refresh icon next to Station in Data Source.
  • If Weather Fusion is showing demo stations, choose Exit Demo Mode before connecting a real station.

Manage Stations

Manage Stations lists configured stations and local station databases. Use it to add eligible stations, control picker visibility and order, create database backups, remove saved station configurations, delete local databases, and review storage issues. See Switch and manage weather stations.

Stations

Manage Stations on iPhone and iPad, or Stations on macOS, controls station visibility and local databases. See Switch and manage weather stations and Remove a station and its local data.

On iPhone and iPad, Data opens Weather Station Data for the selected station. It shows stored coverage and applicable download, repair, recalculation, location, and station-management actions. The Station toolbar database button opens the same data surface.

Sensors

Sensors controls automatic or custom grouping for supported providers and stations. It changes presentation while preserving stored provider values. See Organize sensors and measurements.

Real Time and Historical

Real Time controls card visibility and order for a station. See Customize the Real Time dashboard.

Historical controls chart visibility and order. See Customize Historical charts.

Appearance

Appearance contains two independent choices:

SettingOptionsEffect
Display modeSystem, Light, DarkFollows the device or forces Weather Fusion into a light or dark presentation
Color PaletteStandard, ScientificChanges measurement gradients in gauges, charts, and heatmaps

The default display mode is System and the default color palette is Scientific. Display mode is device-specific. The color palette can sync as a compatible preference when iCloud Sync is enabled. See Change appearance and colors.

On iPhone and iPad, Map Style selects Apple Maps or Mapbox and its base style. Apple Maps offers Standard, Standard (muted), Satellite, and Hybrid. Mapbox offers Standard and Satellite. On Mac, choose the Apple map style from View > Map Style. Marker sources and public-network metrics remain in the map controls.

Units

Choose System, Metric, Imperial, or Custom. Custom mode exposes Temperature, Wind Speed, Pressure, Rain, Wind Run, and Elevation. Unit changes update display formatting across cards, charts, observation tables, exported dashboard images, and widgets. See Change measurement units.

For a selected Weather Underground station, Historical > Advanced Settings can include 24-hour rain totals. Use it when the station reports a rolling 24-hour rain total as its daily value; confirming a change recalculates the station’s summaries.

Backup and Restore

Backup and Restore creates or imports station .wfdb packages containing local station records. Provider authorization remains device-specific. See Back up station data and Restore station data.

iCloud Sync

Use Enable iCloud Sync to choose whether Weather Fusion syncs settings with other iCloud devices.

  • On iPhone and iPad, the toggle appears in Settings.
  • On macOS, choose iCloud Sync in Settings, then turn Enable iCloud Sync on or off.

See Sync settings with iCloud for the procedure and Backups and iCloud Sync for the difference between settings sync and station backups.

Guide, feedback, and About

On iPhone and iPad, the lower Settings sections include Weather Fusion Guide, Rate Weather Fusion, Share Weather Fusion, Send feedback, and About Weather Fusion. About Weather Fusion includes version, legal, Demo Mode, third-party license, and Share Analytics & Diagnostics controls.

On Mac, open the guide, provider setup, rating action, or Send feedback from the Help menu. Open About Weather Fusion from the app menu or Settings. See Send feedback for the diagnostics-backed support flow.
