Download older observations

Use Download Older Observations when recent data exists but earlier months or years are missing.

On iPhone and iPad, open Settings > Data, then choose Download Older Observations in Data Tools. Compact layouts also provide this action from the Station Data sheet.
On macOS, choose Data > Download Older Observations.

Weather Fusion continues the provider’s supported historical backfill from the oldest known coverage. Keep the app active while the task runs.

Provider history depth, account access, and rate limits determine how far the download can go. If the provider reports a retry time, let the task stop and retry later instead of repeatedly restarting it.

Inspect the recovered range in Observations. If only gaps between existing rows are missing, use Fill gaps in historical data instead.
