View and compare historical periods
Use Historical to view and compare observation charts across fixed day, week, month, and year periods. Use Last 24h for a rolling window.
- On iPhone, view Observation Data for the selected period.
- To change chart order and visibility, see Customize Historical charts.
- For chart-by-chart behavior, see Historical Charts.
Choose the period type
Use the period control to choose Day, Week, Month, or Year.
- On iPhone, the period control appears above the Historical charts.
- On iPad and Mac, choose the calendar button to open the period browser and period control.
Choose a stored period
After selecting a calendar period, open the calendar button to browse stored dates. On iPhone, this opens a sheet. On iPad and Mac, it opens a popover.
Use the shortcuts at the top to jump to a commonly used period:
- Choose Today, Yesterday, One week ago, One month ago, or One year ago for observation-level detail on a specific day.
- Choose This week or One week ago for daily summaries across a week.
- Choose This month or One month ago for daily summaries across a month.
- Choose This year or One year ago for broader yearly patterns and summaries.
The date rails list periods already represented in the local station database and enable the corresponding shortcuts and period types. Choose a date in the rail, or use the previous and next arrows after closing the browser.
Hover or drag across a chart to inspect values.
