Organize sensors
Organize sensors and measurements
Use Settings > Sensors to control how compatible station sensors and measurements are named, grouped, placed, and ordered across dashboards and detail views.
The editor is available for configured WeatherLink, Ambient Weather, Ecowitt, and Netatmo stations, and for the selected Demo station. Weather Underground, WiFiLogger, and Windy retain their provider-defined sensor presentation.
Choose an organization mode
- Open Settings > Sensors.
- Select the station when the platform shows a station picker.
- Leave Organize automatically turned on to use Weather Fusion’s provider-aware groups.
- Turn Organize automatically off to edit the organization.
The first custom organization starts from the current automatic groups.
Create and edit sensor groups
- Turn off Organize automatically.
- Choose New Sensor Group… and enter a name.
- Open a sensor group to add or remove sensors.
- Use Edit on iPhone or iPad to reorder the group’s sensors and measurements, then choose Done. On Mac, drag rows into the preferred order.
- Use the group actions to rename or delete the group.
Sensors outside a group appear under Ungrouped Sensors. Measurements assigned independently appear under Ungrouped Measurements or in the selected sensor group.
Rename or move a sensor
- Open a sensor from its group or from Ungrouped Sensors.
- Choose Rename sensor and enter the name used in Weather Fusion.
- Use Sensor Group to place the sensor in a named group or leave it ungrouped.
Choose Restore original name to use the name supplied by the station or connection service.
Place individual measurements
- Open a sensor.
- Under Measurements, select a measurement.
- Choose Original Sensor, a named sensor group, or Ungrouped.
- Open the destination group to place the measurement in the preferred order.
This placement lets a measurement appear in a different group while its source sensor remains in its assigned group.
Reset sensor organization
- Use Reset Sensor Order or Reset Measurement Order inside a group to restore Weather Fusion’s ordering for that list.
- Use Reset Groups… from the main Sensors page to replace the custom hierarchy with automatically organized groups.
On iPhone and iPad, choose Done to apply staged group changes or Cancel to discard them. Mac saves most name, placement, and ordering changes as they are made.
Sensor organization changes presentation while preserving provider data and stored observation values.
