Connect Weather Underground

Connect Weather Underground

Use Weather Underground to connect an account station or add a compatible public station by ID. Setup requires a Weather Underground API Key and Station ID.

See other compatible stations and connection services for compatible connection paths.

Before you begin

Confirm that the station has a recent observation on Weather Underground.

Connect Weather Underground

  1. Open the Weather Underground setup screen in Weather Fusion:
    • For the first station, select Weather Underground on Connect to a Weather Station, then choose Continue.
    • If Weather Fusion is already set up, open Settings › Data Source, open the Provider menu, then choose Weather Underground.
  2. Choose Obtain API Key. Weather Underground opens while the Weather Fusion setup screen remains available.
  3. Sign in and create or copy the API Key.
  4. Return to Weather Fusion, enter the key, then choose Next.
  5. Enter the station’s Weather Underground Device ID in the Station ID field, or select a station on the map.
  6. Choose Done.

After the provider is configured, additional Weather Underground stations can be added from Manage Stations or the public-station map while retaining the configured API key.

If the connection fails

If Weather Underground rejects the API key, create or copy a new API Key in Weather Underground, replace the saved key in Weather Fusion, then choose Next again. Enter the same Station ID unless Weather Underground assigned the station a new one.

Weather Underground real-time polling and historical requests are rate-limited. If a request is temporarily limited, leave the station configured and retry after the provider’s indicated delay.

If historical daily rain appears inflated because the station publishes a rolling 24-hour total, open Settings › Historical for that station and turn on Advanced Settings › 24-hour rain totals. Weather Fusion confirms the change before recalculating summaries.
