Connect Windy

Use Windy to connect an account station with its API key or to discover compatible public stations.

Before you begin

Confirm that the station appears in Windy and has a recent observation.

Connect Windy

1. Open the Windy setup screen in Weather Fusion:
   • For the first station, select Windy on Connect to a Weather Station, then choose Continue.
   • If Weather Fusion is already set up, open Settings › Data Source, open the Provider menu, then choose Windy.
2. Choose Obtain API Key. Windy Stations opens while the Weather Fusion setup screen remains available.
3. Sign in, open the station details, choose Show Key, then copy the API key.
4. Return to Weather Fusion, enter the key, then choose Next.
5. Select an account station. To use a public station instead, find and select it on the map.
6. Choose Done.

Windy real-time data refreshes on its provider cadence. Weather Fusion requests a recent seven-day historical window because Windy’s open-data history endpoint limits the lookback range.

If the connection fails

Return to Windy Stations and copy the station’s API key again. Replace the saved key in Weather Fusion, choose Next, then select the station again. Use the new value if Windy has issued a replacement key.

To add a public Windy station from the map, finish the provider setup first, then use Find and follow public stations.
