Data details

Use Data Details to inspect what is stored for the active station and diagnose missing or inconsistent data.

Open Data Details

  • On iOS, open Settings, then choose Data Details.
  • On macOS, open the Inspector and choose Data.

Real Time section

  • Generated At shows when the latest stored real-time snapshot was produced.
  • Newest observation and Oldest observation show the real-time range currently stored.
  • Observations shows how many real-time rows are stored.
  • Metrics lists the real-time metrics currently available for the active station.

Historical section

  • Last sync date shows when historical sync last completed for this station.
  • Newest observation and Oldest observation show the stored historical range.
  • Observations expands to show raw row count and day/month/year summary counts.
  • Total metrics shows how many historical metric types are present.
  • Missing observations estimates gaps based on the expected archive interval.

A non-zero missing-observations count usually means some expected intervals were not received yet or have not been downloaded.

Database section

  • File Name shows the current station database package (.wfdb).
  • Database size shows the main database size.
  • WAL size shows pending write-ahead-log data.

On macOS, click File Name to reveal the database package in Finder.

When to use Data Details

  • Verify whether empty charts are caused by missing data or unavailable metrics.
  • Confirm imports added rows by checking counts and newest timestamps.
  • Compare station state across devices when values look inconsistent.

If values look out of date, run Download observations and Recalculate Summaries in Data maintenance.
